BT....is it true and is there a catch

I have been told that on the day before christmas and christmas day. BT will only be charging 50p a call and you can be on all day. Is this true?. We all know how easy it is to lose a connection; my wife said I lost mine a long time ago,but that`s another story. So anyway, if we do lose the connection will we have to pay 50p again and again. Just thinking thats all.
