new1008 patches for half life

installed the 1008 patch and now i cant get half life servers on w/p to come to life.
when i click to join a h/l game nothing happens --not a sausage ..help
every thing was perfect before this bloody patch.
oh and by the way the patch updates version 1.0.0.5. if like me you bought half life when it first came out then youve got version 1.0.0.0 (so the patch wont work.)
please help cos h/l is my life at the moment.

Ok m8y, i had this prob as well, here's the fix: (this is assuming you downloaded the patch directly from the net rather then using the Half-Life update facility)

For starters RE-INSTALL Half-Life using the re-install option on the Autorun start-up screen (WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT UNINSTALL THE GAME, CAN TOTALLY FRIG UP YA HARD DRIVE)

Don't worry about losing your saved games etc, every-thing will be preserved.

Now run the game, go into configeration & use the UPDATE option.

Connect to the net & follow the instructions to patch the game.

When all is complete you should be patched to 1.0.0.8 & all should be well. http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

BTW, you will only be able to connect to the Wireplay '1008' servers once this patch is installed, the '1005' servers won't function anymore.

Also have you downloaded the extra maps from Wireplay - if so then you can play them by selecting the '1008 Pack' servers.
