Soundcard vs Duke

I've just upgraded my PC and in doing so have fitted a Creative Labs SB PCI64... In doing this I can't get the sound on Duke 1.3d to work at all... I believe a few other people had problems with this same or similar card and was hoping someone would have an answer... I don't want to go back to my old soundcard but certainly can't play Duke with no sound...
