version 1005 worked great. once i upgraded to 1008 the game hangs after a few minutes, but ONLY on wireplay. Its fine on Lan and using the game to find servers on the net. I can play on the net, but the ping times are a joke. On wireplay with 1005, the game used to fly. please someone help !!

Sounds very similar when people upgraded to 3.20 on quake2. Problems came up, and have downgraded back to 3.19

I think you should go back to 1005

If all the Half life servers on wireplay are gonna be running 1008 next week, then its pointless going back to 1005 !! i guess i'll have to put up with the lag for the moment.
