Does anyone have any bright ideas about how you could impliment a voice comms system between multiple (ie more than 2) players whilst in a game?
I would like to be able to talk to all of the team whilst playing and not have to stop to type something out!
I have looked at a number of voice over IP products but they seem to be point to point and not allow a "conferencing" option. Any one have any good ideas?

IIRC, there's a thread on this topic on the Air Attack noticeboard, or one of it's off-shoots. Chadman, can you remember?

Hi,
I might be horrendously wrong (doesn't happen often :-) ) but I seem to remember reading somewhere that something like this will gobble up resources in 1ms flat and make Quake run like a sloth on valium.
There are products out there somewhere that contain their own dedicated processors (ie headsets/mikes and PCI cards) but they ain't cheap. Plus obviously all your team mates have to have the same.
If anyone knows any different, feel free to correct me - the topic rang bells with me about a similar idea I had about 1 1/2 yrs ago.

GJ
Ring up the BT helpline and ask em about 3 way conference calls http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
Should work a treat on squad organisation in team games http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
We've tried Quizmo, that proxy thingy for QW
but so far it:
1. Shafts your modem - like *totally*. And everyone elses!
2. Bombs regularly.
3. Is only available for QW, not Q2.
We're still thinking about this one ..
Slash, Wireplay Tech guy.
using roger wilco i had 3 ppl connected to my server and to be honest it was kinda jerky
i guess u have to live with it if u want real time chat via high processor intensive games like quake
and with a constant stream of sound my ping was about 230 which isnt that bad
