Hi,
I find when i'm on Wireplay IRC is always extremely quiet and occasionally so are the Quakeworld servers. I was wondering how hard it would be to organise a small gateway to the internet. It wouldn't have to be capable of playing on 'net' servers, just have enough bandwidth to join Quakenet IRC and even allow for browsing of the world wide web.
I ask, because usually I connect to wireplay, then realise I forgot to ask someone something, or as what happened yesterday, my 'qwselect.qvw' got corrupted. The only solution to getting this back (due to noone being on IRC) was to download the full client install (4.52mb I think), install and run it. Already that had cost me 30/40minutes of gameplaying time *just* to get the right files!
It's just a suggestion, and i'm sure that many other Wireplayers (cc'ers and ppp'ers alike) would find it of great use.
