Last night my ping on H-L was out of this world. I dont think it went over 80, and was mostly between 65-75 (hh with bt internal card). So whatever you're doing seems to have helped my connection cos I sure havent changed anything and it used to be between 90-110 at best. So some thanks and congratulations are due methinks http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif

And what about the BT Internet homepages and pop3 issues?

Ahhh someone else I can ask! What graphics card do you have - I was on last night and could only get down to the high 80's - in HL latency can also come from your own system - so I'm trying to determine if it is my g'card before I upgrade.
Thanks to NOR BTW who was answering my questions ( I was playing as lag_testing_victim ).
[I've a Riva128, Celery 300A running at 464 mhz with 128mb ram so I think the graphics card is the weakness http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif)

Yeah,
Last night my Lag was down into the mid 80's, got as low as 60 for a while. SO thanks guys for what ever you did.
Fleetfoot I have a RivaTNT and two V2 in SLI.
The riva kicks out the polys and then my V2 render them, get a framerate of mid 60's with 800x600 and a lag of 80.
I would have thought that your card is good enough, what type of TA are you using??

Romanus et domus.....
Drilla's written something on performance testing and what's being done so far, note that there's still loads more analysis to be done:

The BT Internet problems are caused by their firewall needing to be reconfigured to let us in, they're working on it.
And good to hear about the ping improvements!

My TA is the internal BTSpeedway. Eventually my ping was matching Nors so I guess I've now got it set up right.
I'll be upgrading the graphics card anyway for TA:Kingdoms and the volumetric fog etc.. Besides which the Riva128 is dark and prone to ugliness. Its time for TNT for me http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
I was also playing at 800x800 in openGl.

Fleetfoot, I use a single V2 at 640x480, P3-450. I spose I didnt really notice much difference in ping when I tried running at 800x600 (a few weeks back now), but I'm paranoid so I dropped it back to 640x480 just in case http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif I might try it tonight and check what happens to the ping.
And youre right about the system slowing the ping (or latency I guess is the more accurate term) cos on a lan day we had a couple months back, one bloke had a p166 I think, and his latency was around 150 vs the rest of us at 20!
We plugged the network into a fresh cup of really hot tea...
