As I have got a voodoo 3 i decided to link it my Sony Trinton 25" TV to play Half-Life, I managed to link everything up and got it to work. The thing is though the quality on the desktop is poo, motocross madness is great, age of empires is too blurred but quake 2 runs in a window doens't work in full screen and half-life says my video card doesn't support software, direct 3d or opengl! and I can't crank my screen res beyond 800x600 even though I have a AMD-K6 2 3Dnow 450 with 128sdram 100mhz and a 64bit soundcard. I read some where that the TV out is surperb on a Sony Trinton 29" TV and the quality was crisp clear when they reviewed the card. So I was wondering does ne 1 how to improve the quality or any app which makes it better ne help would be appreciated http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

I have an SLI card which can go into a TV. Although i havent tried it, it ionly works on specific resolutions and at particular refresh rates, so maybe these arent set up right. Also, for mine, it says that only the 3D accelerated part of the display is supposed to go through the TV, so windows desktop is bound to look bad. Hope this has helped, but it may be irrelevent
erm...i don't think that a conventional tv can work at high resolutions. in fact i wouldn't recommend you try to set it any higher than 640x480, that's what monitors are designed for. tvs are very low quality compared to the preciseness of monitors, monitors can refresh in excess of 120hx whereas tvs only have to refresh at 25hz

must correct u there m8, Tvs refresh at 50hz in europe, 60hz in Japan.
the figure of 25hz uve picked up on is because that is what TV film is recorded at, and the Tv plays it back at two refreshes per frame. so Tv is capable of 50fps.

I have wondered about this, right you can get 100Hz TV's now but what does that influence, I saw a DVD player running through one and it was amazingly clear and crisp. And one last thing does digital telly get broadcast in any higher quality than normal TV and if not why not and still if not will it be? (ahem excuse the ejaculation)

Oh don't worry about it, it's good for you http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif
Erm. I don't know much about what you want to know, but I'll just say that yes, TVs are very low res, but are backed up by an almost infinite number of colours. While TVs are fine for longe-range viewing, monitors have to be much more precise.
