Missed the first posting to the board... oh well :) Anyway, i3 is really beginning to get underway now, but for those of you who are wondering "what is this guy going on about" here's the run down.
i3 is a 300+ player LAN party sponsored by Gameplay, IBM and SMC, along with the entourage of games/hardware companies. The event is basically a non-stop gaming fest, where people from all over the country and abroad bring their PCs along to take part in gaming over the LAN. Our network consists entirely of 10/100 Mbps switched network connections, which, for the uninitiated out there, means connection speeds of over 1000 times faster than even 128k ISDN, on a switched network to boot (not hubs). IBM are providing a literal lorry load of servers for the event, giving a total number of server CPU cycles of over 15GHz!
This all adds up to enabling us to run oodles of dedicated servers for just about every multiplayer game under the sun, at superfast connection speeds with <20ms pings the norm. Ever wanted to play a stable and smooth game of Quake 3 with 16 or more players? Events like these deliver this and more.
The event is taking place over 24-26 March in Swindon Town F.C. (the conference centre not on the pitch :)). We already have significant interest but there's still time to get your bookings in if you like. Surf over to the following URL for more info:

If you have any questions about the event, ask away on this board and we'll try to answer them as quickly and as best we can.
See you there!
Cheers,
