No it was our charming personalities... and the thought of all the $$$ they're gonna make on the food and beer at the event! :) Simple maths... an extra 70 ppl each drink and eat a fair amount each day... 420 total there eat and drink a veritable truckload :).

What are the chances of the people at the ground realising it's a private function and opening the bar after 11? Let's face it, when you're planning on being awake till god knows when, 11 o'clock is pretty early in the night.

They're talking to the local council about getting an extended licence. The problem is it's not a "dinner dance" event, so they have to apply for special permission. It's all up to the local council and police, so we're not holding our breath. I totally agree with you, we should be having the bar open as much as possible. Hell, even STFC want to keep it open, as they remember the 11 oclock rush last time and how late people were up... $$$ in front of their eyes :)

One thing I did find was the 'dinner dance' stipulation - I mean, how much of an antiquated law is that? AFAIK, our drinking laws are roughly unchanged since WW1 - FFS!!!

Biscester was pretty much fine, what was the deal there?

The official line is that the bars will be open 11am-11pm. There'll be a snack bar as well... serving a full range of stuff. We're getting full details out of them atm, and will be putting a menu and pricelist up on the website shortly.
