Sorry for being a newbie here, I'v never been to a 'bring your own comp' LAN party. (I went to the PC Gamer one in Nottingham) I wanted to know is their like one massive server running all the games, or lots of small servers, or do we just play comp to comp no server needed?

That very much depends on the game your playing m8. If Unreal Tournament is your thing then there are multiple servers running, with all the various mods and game types. At an event where there can be literally hundreds of people playing the same game as you, the servers tend to be quite full and some cracking games are to be had :).

Other server based games include QuakeWorld, Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena, Tribes, Half-Life, Half-Life Counterstrike mod, Half-Life: Team Fortress Class, to name but a few. It really does rock :).

Being on one big network you can just jump between all the games you have. Of course there are also the peer to peer games such as Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Revolt, and many many more to play, which do not require servers.

Hope this helps and to see you there at the partay! :)
