all i can say is i've had no noticeable probs with the Microstar 6167 that i got with my A500 back in November-tho i understand this has been superceded by a new model? Other ppl seem to reckon Asus boards are good also, perhaps the best quality-wise :)

Well m8......the one to get is defo the ASUS K7V it is fantastic, very easy to install very tweakable(if only I knew how :)) and it runs faaaast,I originally got a microstar 6i67 like the person above but unlike him I had major probs with it and had to send it back...its very fussy about mixing ram types and it hates the geforce pro the K7V on the other hand will run any ram pc-100/pc-133/cas 3/cas2 any manufacturer and it loves the geforce cards....a match made in heaven ;).......oh and steer clear of the gigabyte athlon boards yuuuuck.Hope that helps u m8,tata WIIIJA
There's nothing wrong with Gigabytes' Athlon boards, their 7IX(E) still outperforms the KX133 boards on a few things. The Asus may be ok for some, but I have read of quite a few probs, even tho it's on the AMD approved list. The Abit is a bit fussy on RAM, but it also goes the quickest with it's easy OC'ing abilities. The Asus does not have an ISA slot, but has 1xAGP, 5xPCI + 1xAMR. The Abit has 1x AGP, 6xPCI & 1xISA.
The choice is yours, but IMHO, the ABit is the better board (and cheaper too).

i have ASUS K7V with voodoo2 and SBLive!
had sound working fine; but put on v2 drivers they caused whole system to hang. Fixed that and now the comp doesn't recognise my SBLive AT ALL. I'm not world's greatest system maker but made my previous two systems without a hitch.
Check out WWW.K7V.COM (http://WWW.K7V.COM) and WWW.ASUSNETQ.COM (http://WWW.ASUSNETQ.COM) for all the troubles peeps the world over are having.
Very good board apparently.
