Hmmm

Not impressed so far.

Got the game.
Installed it.
Went straight to Multiplayer.
Said the servers were down for maintenance.
Fair enough - they said it would take an hour.
So I watched a film and came back a few hours later.
Tried again to use my char WildWayz and it says "WildWayz rejected by server" WTF???
So I made another char up.
Tried to play a game..
Server full.
Tried more games.
Server full.

The I got "Lost connection to Battle.net" and it won't connect anymore.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i always play on the other multi-player---open battlenet...least then u get a game, and can do some trading....even if u do get ripped off...:E

m8 its a new game, give it a bit of time, loads of people online overloaded it
try open for a while good fun

on the euro servers generally you can get a game for a good 5 mins...PITA i know.

I have been playing sp so far - Lev 21 paladin

I'm sure BLIZZARD know that the euro servers are about as useful as a chocolate teapot but feel free to mail them so that they know the extent of the problem so that they can fix it when it is patched. (also to fix the cd problem!)

Perhaps someone can tell us what the performance of the US servers are like for

1) stability
2) lag
3) what you connection is

a helluva lot of people have the problem that when they either autorun the cd or double click the desktop icon the message

You must have the play CD in to run Diablo2

this happens every time I start but if I click retry a few times it finally works. (usually 5-9 times)

some poeple get stuck there with no joy retrying and there is a hacked patch - DO NOT INSTALL THIS, you won't be able to play on battle.net

Blizzard should be fixing this in the next patch. basically they have said to make sure your CD drivers are the latest version but mine are and i still have the problem and ALL other cds work fine

(I have a DVD 5* creative encore)

I think that this only occurs AFTER you have patched the game to 1.1 so you have a choice.

1) play single player / LAN unpatched
2) play patched and maybe have the retry bug
3) use hacked patch and play single player/LAN and maybe risk a reinstall when the new patch from blizzard comes out

your choice (I chose 2!)

I actually like the fact that the game supports multiple cd drives :)

Means I can have the play cd in my DVD drive and the cinematics one in my CD Writer. :)

No more cd swapping :)
