Still no joy, tried both different ISDN driver revisions and 5.16 Hercules drivers, plus the 5.22 reference drivers.

Still can't get my ISDN card to work at the same time as the GTS.

My system is

P2-333 (was looking to upgrade this but doubt I will bother now if this card is going back)
Asus P3V4X Mobo
128mb Crucial cas-2 Memory
Hercules Prophet II 64mb GTS
Asus ISDN PCI TA
SBLive 1024 Player

Windows 98 SE

I might try one last ditch attempt at a Win98 SE install but I dont hold out much hope.

Surely it will be a case of confilting IRQ's try setting them up manually in the BIOS, as win98 is **** for setting them. :(

Hi,

Well I got the card today, Hurah, no 2D image quality issues at all, Hurah.

But now I cant use my ISDN Asus TA anymore! If I install the Nvidia drivers I LOSE my D-Channel everytime, if I set it to standard VGA as I am in now its fine, although obviously my graphics are appauling. I am giving myself a day to sort this out. If not then this card is going back.

Help!!!

Mike

Well - You've done better than me then matey - I can't get the driver install routine past 93% when I restart - than everything locks up. Three and a half hours this morning wasted - only to have finally given up - re-installed my V3 and am out on the prowl for a solution in something better than Safe Mode :(.

At the mo' I've flashed up my bios in case that was the problem - but I'm going to wait a few days for Guillemot to get a bit clued up - This ****ing card! I knew it would give me grief. And I reckon I'm better than most at sorting griefy probs PC wise.

I expect there's a simple solution - But my guess is that either my Driver CD is knackered which I doubt - Or the drivers are just a load of fussy **** - which I don't doubt.

I'll keep looking in to see if anyone else has had the same trouble.

Well ive had mega problems too. Im running

P3-800 coppermine
256mb ram
Asus ISDN TA
SBlive player 1024
Win 2K

Firstly the 2d display contains a small amount of flickering much like tv interference but the refresh rates are fine.

The most important problem is when running 3d apps and games. Running at the default clock speeds my machine locks up (requiring restart) anything from 5 or more secs into a game, or even a nvidia demo.

Four hours wasted trying different drivers, clock speeds and bog standard default settings to no avail. The card is going back on monday.

You have the same ISDN TA as me but you actually get it working?

I tried Quake 3 and it all runs fine with the GTS itself, wasted all day trying to figure this out.

The ISDN TA just WILL not function when I install the proper drivers, if I stick at Standard VGA it does!! What gives!

STD VGA and The Proper install both use the same IRQ so its not that, there are no memory, irq or anything conflicts between the ISDN TA or Prophet.

Can I ask what drivers you are using for your ISDN TA? I am using 3.4.9 WDM version on the Asuscom ISDN PCI TA (No Pots)

I have just rang gameplay, they are as stumped as me. I am loathed to re-install 98 SE because I dont think it will fix it. The card seems to function fine, just that my ISDN card does not like it.

I'll speak to Tech Support again at gameplay when they ring me back but if no joy I'll just put my Millennium 2 and V2 SLI combo back in, this just aint worth the hassle..

Shame Guillemot aint open on a Saturday.

Cheers

Mike

Got my 64mb card and everything's working great.

My suggestion would be to have nothing in the 1st PCI slot (the one closest to the AGP slot). In the past there have been problems with AGP and the 1st PCI slot sharing address information which is fine for some PCI cards but not for others.

Im using the same WDM drivers as you with no problems.

Hmm, so I have the exact same drivers yet mine wont work.. I give up..

Gameplay never rang me back, this card looks like its going back..

I only have 2 PCI devices and 1 AGP device now, no conflicts, no sharing..

To get on the net I have to keep swapping to VGA Standard so I can get my ISDN card to get a D-channel :)

Illuvater what mobo do you have, and is that an 800E,800EB or an o/c 600E ? http://forums.gameplay.com/ubb/monkee.gif

Its an intel 440bx with a 100mhz fsb p3 800 coppermine. Why?

Oh and it seems my geforce just wont run at the default clock speeds. My thinking is that it is a faulty card. I managed to get some use out of it by lowering the speeds but as far as im concered that is unacceptable. It should do what its advertised to. Especially as ive seen them running at core speeds of 230mhz with no probs while mine cant run at the default.

I was just wondering, if your mobo could be the problem or your cpu :)

Hehehe, its odd because my card works flawlessly in the job its supposed to 3D Graphics but it just wont work with my TA :)

Not sure what its clocked default is though..

I have sent emails off to Asuscom, Hercules, Guillemot and we shall see what they say. I have my RMA number from GP and this card will be going back if something is not forthcomming.

I am annoyed because I like the card and it works :) I just am not going back to a modem dialup...

I even tried a re-install of Windows 98 SE with just the Prophet and ISDN drivers loaded, EXACT same problem... :(

Mike

(I have my Millennium II and V2 SLI combo back in and everything is working fine)

Try altering the AGP aperture size in the BIOS, and/or try disabling AGP4X as well.

Those two are usually the sources of probs with Geforce cards....

Hi,

Found someone with the same problem as me, looks like is a Asus P3V4X vs GTS issue..

Hmm, now do I cancel my RMA and risk a fix or return the bloody card :(

Well, just phoned Guillemot, they have no idea whats going on with the thing :)

Got my RMA number so its bye bye Prophet II GTS for now...

I'll maybe look to buy another card when someone can convince me the ISDN TA will work on my Mobo. Maybe I should get a Voodoo 5 :)

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana">quote:</font><HR>looks like is a Asus P3V4X vs GTS issue<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>I've got a 32mb Prophet 2 on an Asus P3V4X with a Eicon Diva Pro 2 Pci ISDN TA (in slot 2), a Soundblaster Live! Platinum in slot 3, a Netgear NIC in slot 4 and an old HP Scsi/Scanner card in the ISA slot.

Everything works fine so I can't help but wonder whether there's some issue with the 64mb card that there isn't with the 32.

The only prob's I did have were occasional lock-ups in 3DMark2000 but changing the AGP from 4X to 2X in the Mobo bios sorted this.
It knocked my 3DMark2000 score down by about 150 to 5300 but's it's worth it for stability.

I also overclocked my system to 800Mhz (it's a P3 600e) and got 6216 3DMarks but have gone back to 600Mhz again until I get better cooling sorted.

Hi,

Thanks for the imput, my ISDN card is a Asuscom ISDNlink PCI TA, it seems like the combination of P3V4X, Asus TA and the Prophet cause the problem.

Incidently what BIOS you got on the P3V4X?

Thanks

Mike

PS: the card is now on it way back, but I would still like to bottom the problem.

I'm running the 1003 bios.

I know lots of peeps are using 1004 and the various beta's but while mine is working fine I'm not gonna mess with it!

One question I have for you - what 4in1 pack are you running?
I'm using version 4.20 BUT with the special 402 AGP driver patch. Before I installed that patch I had a shed load of problems.

That might work...
