Need help gforce 1 ddr probs :(

It all installs fine but after between 30 secs and 1 min the screen goes black then returns messed up and the pc refuses to respond
any ideas as to how to fix this or suggestions would be very useful

your power supply cant cope with it, buy a more powerful one :(

What rating should the ps be ? I bought a 600 athlon system, with a gf 256 ddr installed, and I get this same problem if I leave the pc on for a while (but not being used), or if I put it into sleep mode.

The screen also goes black (with coloured spots..!?).

My existing ps is 250 watts.

A 300w PSU is recommended for an Athlon but not compulsory. Bear in mind though that an Athlon consumes around 55w of power and a Geforce consumes around the same. Leaves very little power for the rest of your stuff.....

Also, the power supply needs to be very "clean" as well apparently from what I hear. Goto www.overclockers.co.uk (http://www.overclockers.co.uk) and get hold of one their Athlon approved PSUs for around £40, worth every penny IMO
