I have just upgraded from my banshee to this new card, Games like quake 3 and Unreal Tournament work great but Halflife Counterstrike is very poor visually,

this is the game i play most often and the text is displayed during the game very poorly and generally does not work very well on the deafault opengl Driver.

does anyone else find this trouble?

Pahahaha!...just pahaha. Don't worry it's just jelousy seeping out. GF2's, i'll tell yer...give me a good old voodoo card any day. Oh the memories...drifts off into nostaligia*

Hmmm...I've got the 32mb version and for the most part it's great. Have got to conceed the point about the text though. The messages sent by others are a bit "blurred". As is the initial start up screen of TFC.

Apart from this, it's a fine beastie!

what resolution are you running in? 1280x960? higher?
the HL texts are not optimised to run above 1024x768, they always look iffy above this.
you could download a custom gfx.wad file (with larger letters) or just put up with it like most >1024 peeps do.

i play CS at 1024x768 using a Geforce SDR and Nokia 447xPRO monitor, and i've never noticed anything other than superb image quality in all respects ;)

I upgraded from a V2 12mb to a Prophet DDR and yes the text is crap, the black surround bleeds and isn't scaled with the res.
I aply in about 1024 or below I think and it's bareable. Don't wack the res up higher or you won't be able to read a thing. Try both the openGL and the direct3D modes though.
