Well I just got a new PC today( ahem PIII 800mhz) and was wondering if there was a way to easily swap infromation between my old PII 450 to this one? For example my 1 GB Half-life folder :p
Any help is appreciated
I would say, for the home user, small hub, couple of network cards, couple of patch cables, should be able to transfer a gig in 15mins.
I hope this help http://forums.gameplay.com/ubb/wink-anim.gif

just copy all the stuff from one HDD to the other by putting them in the same machine and then just transferring all the stuff across
i spose it easier than installing network cards i spose, and a lot chearper :)

What ybw said.
Make sure you jumper it to slave though, if you are putting it on the same IDE channel. http://forums.gameplay.com/ubb/devil.gif
;) If you don't fancy opening the PC up, why not just connect the machines together using either a serial/serial or parallel/parallel cable ? You need to install Direct Cable Connection (from Win 95 or 98 disc).....
There's step by step in computeractive issue 59, if your interested.

Leave it for erm...a day...that should do it via serial cable!
I transferred a old DOOM folder (about 40Mb) from a 486 PC (which use the old URUAT chipset so it's a slow serial transfer)...it took 2 hours...with the modern serial chipset it should take erm...1 hour?
Do it over night and maybe that should do it...if not, go to work/school for the day and come home and it should be done by then! http://forums.gameplay.com/ubb/teeth.gif
