me looks in special reserve mag,,see's Riva TNT2 Vanta for bout £80. it runs @ 183hmz, and has 32meg onboard memory,
then me see's Voodoo3 3000 for bout £100, it runs @166Mhz, and has only 16 meg onboard memory.
TNT card spec looks better, but it is alot cheaper, how come ? both cards i am lookin at are PCI versions. i am wonderin cause i need new gfx card,, me Voodoo2 getin old.
i have P2 433 + 128 RAM
Is the TNT card the one to go for ?
PS: wot does (STB) mean ? :)
fanx :p
Try insight instead same make and model but bout £50-60.

Can't tell u whether it's better than the Voodoo 3 3000 - but I read a revieaw slating the Vanta. It said that it was a downgraded version of the Ultra - & its performance tests were not all that impressive on a PII - 400.
This is not my opinion just what I read. Hope it helps.
TNT, YEP!! :) :) :)
:homer:
I've got to agree with Plectr@m, you are much better off going for the Voodoo. The Vanta is a serverly crippled version of the TNT2. It has half the memory bandwith and the core speed is a fair bit less as well. However, the PCI version of the v3 is virtually identical to the AGP version and the speed doesn't suffer that much. It is compatible with all GLide as well which is a bonus

Yep, go for the V3 instead of the TNT2 Vanta. The Vanta isn't a cut down of the Ultra, its a cut down of the basic one :E
sorry been away, yeah TNT2 VANTA AND M64 SUCK BIG TIME!! Don't buy these cards, they're nothing like the original tnt2's and tnt2 ultras.
Hope this helps! :)

PS: I also wnna upgrade my graphics cards as my crappy Matrox millennium 4mb (2D) and voodoo2 (3D) are getting well out of date. would a voodoo 3 3000 give much of a perfomance increase? how about a geforce DDR. i'm currently getting 52FPS on q3 at 640*480 on a PIII600e and 128mb RAM.

I've got a voodoo 3 3000 wish I had a Geforce :E
so geforce DDR it is then. Wot is the cheapest price ever seen for a DDR??? I've seen the creative geforce ddr at scan's today only every weekend for only £120. Is this the best price??
thanx
