Hi,

Hehe .. just a thought. I'm was just thinking about developing an active desktop web page with links, shortcuts, links to documentation etc for my own pute at home .. and I just thought, I wonder
what wp3 would lool like (since the desktop is just explorer) if it was a desktop ?? Hmmm .. forums and servers auto-refreshing every x mins, buddy notifications when they come online ..

I'm undecided whether this would be pants/daft/cool.

News just in - Developers of WP3 are being sued by the DOJ for taking over peoples computers ... hehe. [Capt. Scarlet: No we aint!]

Interesting idea - however the whole concept of the 'Active Desktop' was a complete flop (IMHO).

Does anybody still use it for 'pushed' content?

I also turn it off as it slows things down and makes the shell more prone to crash (at least on NT it doesn't take the OS with it).

I'm currently working on a new 'skin' for the client as an experiment - it'll navigate rather differently and is based on my original concept for the client (which the marketing folks didn't like).
