startup problems

First off, the client looks fab. However, I found more often than not when the client screen loaded the left pane didn't load, nor did the main pane, i.e. I only had the personality stuff at the bottom left and the chat window. Exiting via the tray icon a ew times fixed this. A reboot didn't help this behaviour either. Also, on trying to get the list of halflife servers up, several times the list never appeared, and it was exit time again... I don't know if you need more info from me.
Over about a dozen attempts I only managed to get one game of CS working. : (

That sort of behaviour is probably down to a flaky network connection - was your game any good?

If the game was OK, then we have a problem..

Hi,
The game I got to run was fine (quite good pings too). I ran it last night again for a quickie and it worked ok first time. The game ran ok too. This time I was able to leave a server and go back and view the list of servers and join a second game. So, no real consitency there. I expect I'll give it a good thrashing over the weekend and see if I can see any patterns...
