Not sure where the problem lies but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has it

Sequence of events
1) d/load WP3
2) d/load HL patch 1.0.1.6.infinity
3) install both
4) fire up wp3 and set up ok
5) start at TFC game - NO SOUND!!!
6) quit both apps
7) play TFC lan game with myself and sound ok
8) fire up WP2
9) Sound OK on TFC
10) quit both but don't disconnect and fire up wp3
11) see my own name on TFC map?
12) Play TFC with sound
13) Get shot repeatedly by sniper http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/frown.gif
14) get the hump and go to bed

Like i said there are many explanations for it but I'd just mention it _in case_ anyone else has the same problem

also when I quit a game my name stays on the TFC server for a couple of mins after i leave - bizarre

not sure how we could be affecting the sound as we don't touch the sound api's

the still appear for a while in the server list because currently the update to the client is using quite a long interval (30 -60 seconds), we will reduce this to somewhere between 5 and 10 secs in the near future.

If you get no sound again, just press escape twice! Problem solved!

You need to add the following to the configure game part:

-game tfc

so it reads "hl.exe -game tfc".
