View Full Version : Favourites listing for WP3?

I haven't been using WP 3 much as yet, but wondered if I'm missing something here - is there any way of setting up a favourite games list?
When I go to gameplay I get the "alphabetic" and "Category" listings - what would be great would be a way to simply right click on a game when you've navigated to it and get a context driven menu to add to a favourites list. The Favourites list would appear on the initial menu with Category and Alphabetic listing.
If there's some way of accomplishing this already, feel free to humiliate me in public by posting a reply http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/smile.gif

Excellent...
My thoughts on this is that it'll work like this:
Under 'Config' there will be a favourites item which will show a table with all the games and a checkbox next to each one so you can specify if it is a favourite or not.
There will then be a 'favourites' item in the 'play' tree and the we will use the games you selected as favourites as a filter on what list of games to show under that part of the tree.
The original design was that we stored your preferences server-side, but this meant that we needed to serve all the pages to the client through some code that could look up your preferences which we felt had too great an impact on performance.
If I filter it client side then it just hides data you're not interested in.

Sounds cool http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/smile.gif
What about having that for games you want set up as favourites, but also having a "Recent Games" list on the games entry screen (Like they have on the Zone-{spit}) Or does that mean keeping info on the games everybody played last time they were on server side?
Nuts - just wrote a long response to this then hit 'clear field' rather than 'submit' -doh!
This sounds like a very cool idea.
We could do this on the client side as easily as a maintained favourites list. Perhaps we should only do this and let it become a 'self-maintaining' favourites list.
So games you play a lot automatically move into and up your own personal top 10 chart.
More ideas here please!
why not have a -last game played link, just a button, somewhere to take u to the server browser or game area for that game?....just so u can go straight back 2 playing the game u were if u get disconnected, restart software, etc.
Another top idea.
I'm making notes...

I made a suggestion to Capt Scarlet about having two or three hot keys on the main page somewhere that you could configure to go straight to the lists of the game you configured it to.
