First impression, I like it http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Chat room is fun and a nice idea when meeting up to play a game.
Now the things I dont like are;
1) On Quake3 when you leave a server the wp3 client resets back to the main menu http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/mad.gif
2) There seems to be no way of refreshing the servers i.e. if you are waiting with a m8 for a server to free up how do u keep the server info current
3) The players connected to the server dont match the number in the game (top/bottom screens)
4) If I leave the client on will there be any way of logging out of the chat room so people dont say hi and get no message back.
5) Adding a players ping to the server like gamespy would be nice.
6) When will it be OPEN to other ISPs because it doesn't seem to be at the mo.
Kind regards,
Hopeless.

Looks good to me.
Nice to be able to access the forums and chat seems cool.
Daft question time.
1. There doesnt seem to be a log out button as in WP2....is it ok just to close down the application and will you still be able to log straight back on if required.
2. When you add more games in the next build can we still play against peeps running WP2 *cough* Poker Player *cough*
On the whole....lookin good and thumbs up

To Hopeless...
1. I know http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/frown.gif, should be fixed for the main release (hopefully).
2. Currently the playe list (bottom pane) refreshes dynamically. The server list will also at some point.
3. Yep, because the bottom pane is updating and the top one isn't.
4. Hmm, some form of Hide functionality, maybe (well, I hope so anyway).
5. It would and we'll hopefully do it.
6. Don't know at the mo.
Deckster...
1. You can close the client app and as long as there's the little thingy in the system tray you will remain logged on. You can then just click on the thingy (I must find out the right word http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/smile.gif) and select wireplay home to start up the full client again.
2. I'll have to ask someone who knows, but I don't see why not. Asuuming we support the game http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks,
Kaylin
BTW when I get some more concrete answers I'll post another reply.

Thanks for the feedback. In quake3 the botton panel does not update properly http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/frown.gif I've never seen it update while viewing it. It only updates if u select another server and then go back. Even then it takes a few minutes between updates. It would be nice to click on the server and the bottom panel refreshes (as well as the server).
Keep up the good work http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Hmm...
bit of clarification required here.
1. WP2 peer games will NOT be integrated with WP3 ones; they work on competely differnet systems. Soz.
2. Autoupdate of svr list; does not scale well for thousands of users (our design target). Perhaps we need to consider a new feature to help players find free svrs ??

A refresh button would be nice http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/biggrin.gif. It was so frustrating not being able to see who was playing on the servers. Sometimes I joined a empty server that the client said people were using (they must have logged off a few minutes before but I had no way of updating the info). In the end I had gamespy running in the background which defeats having the WP3 client http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/frown.gif.

Server List should and will update automatically as Kaylin said.
On the subject of refresh buttons:
We cannot afford to give 1000+ users a button which allows them to hammer our server systems, especially the game server themselves (which is what WireView/Gamespy do).
The server listing (top half of display) should refresh at ~10second intervals, while the player listing (lower half) should update in 'near real time' (ie: as fast as the network can shift data).
We did consider putting in a refresh button as a placebo (!) which would simply redraw the display with the lastest (pushed) data from the server.

Great http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/biggrin.gif, I look forward to it being implemented in future beta releases.

Probably a very silly idea but,
Do you have to access the game servers for ping/player information? Could you have a 'distributed' system where the game servers themselves were interrogated by another set of servers which were then in turn interrogated by the end user using the wireplay 3 client. With this system could you not reduce the load on the game servers and allow people more access to 'live' data. Of course this if it is even possible would bring in another weak link.
I hope this makes some sort of sense….

I agree with all the above http://www.gameplayerz.com/ubb/smile.gif
Main reason for this reply is the question regarding the name for the icon thingy in the sys tray.
Well we have icons, naturally, and the new thingys that sit in web pages and appear on your bookmarks are called favicons, so why not call it gameicon? or playicon? I may have to start a new thread about this, do you think it would be too trivial for this august bored?

you can refresh by clicking the game you want to play on the right hand side and then it updates as if you have just clicked it for the first time

Theres no back button, to view previous pages.
I like the idea of a placebo button - it'll allow the newbies to think something is happening - this is a good thing.
