Any chance of Wireplay getting a Diablo2 server up? I and a mate have this game on pre-order, and plan to spend alot of time playing it, if Diablo1 is anything to go by, Diablo2 should rock!

Actually, Bat, he isn't just restricted to AA, as I am not either (although you probably haven't seen me for a while).

Dont think that WP can *get* a D2 server, my take on it is this: D2 isnt structured like Q2/Q3 etc, instead there are 3 realms (collections of servers: europe, us-east, us-west) and in those realms, you host your very own games.

Also "non battle.net" probably means IP to IP games. That'll be crap because it'll be a closed character, meaning you wouldnt be able to play it on battle.net's servers.

We might be able to handle IP-IP stuff with Wireplay 3. My main worry is if they mean LAN only, or direct con only. WP 3 has a handy gizmo written in that 'sometimes' allows us to start manual-IP games, so you never know.

Yep. That was me.
I have just been reminded by Samurai that we have previously spoken to Blizzard about Diablo 2 - and they have told us in no uncertain terms (and not very politely) that Gameplay are under no circumstances allowed to host Diablo 2 or any other Blizzard game. Looks like this puts the mockers on this one I'm afraid - We don't wat to get sued.
