I know this may be a bit forward of me to ask you, however

a, Have you a strategy for sustaining the growth of Peer to Peer game usage on GP/WP

b,Have u recently read the game forums of the peer to peer games, with the Notable exception of Total Annihilation,

they make Chilling reading. I think so anyway

c, Does GP/WP believe that the current total focus on satisfying the demands of players on server based games, i.e. Quake, half life, UT is the only way forwards

d, Whereas c above may be inacurate, that is the appearance current activity indicates an this i believe is reflected in the steady decline off Peer to peer games.

You support loads off new games, and this constantly brings new people into the fold, but all these games, with the one or two exceptions wither away rapidly.

I am genuinely interested in your views on this matter as I believe WP 3 hints at a strategic change in direction which i find , should I say encouraging.

The problem has not been the lack of interest on owe part in peer to peer games but the general stability of this type of game. This has now been resolved in build 314 and should increase peer to peer interest.

We are however currently doing allot to improove peer to peer going.

Never fear Vite - peer2peer games will live on with WP3. Alot of development work is going into this type of game. As Zac says (he works for WP, as do i) there has been a few probs. getting the p2p games to work with more than 2 players. That has now been rectified and more games are being added to each build. I for 1 love Age of Kings & Close Combat 2,3,4. - Shogun total war looks promising and so does Imperium galatica II. I would say that patience is the key here. When WP3 goes live (as the beta only has a ltd following currently) there will be alot more activity on the p2p games. (He say's - confidently) :)
