View Full Version : WP3 - Default Connection
Hi,
I'm trying to login to WP using WP3 through BT Free (Not WP Direct as I'm to tight).
I must be being dumb but how do you set it up. I keep getting a message saying "Could no connect to WP" even when I'm already connected to BT Free.
Help........Please.......
I've got WP2.3 still installed and I'm using ISDN. WP2.3 works OK on BT Free no problem.
Cheers,

Well I'm using BT FREE also and can connect just fine, the only difference is I'm using a modem. So I guess its your ISDN that is the problem.

I agree. And we have had other customers connecting on ISDN fine. However may I suggest for the moment(though not ideal) attempt launching the client not dialed in. As the launching function has had problems recognising a connection. Short of this have you tried to re-install the client.
I reinstalled and also tried launching whilst off line but still no joy.
I did however change the WP Direct DUN details to the same as BT Free and entered my BTI username and password then logged on to WP using WP3's direct connection option and this time it launched and it seems to be working.
I hope its actually used the BT Free number, but looks like it worked.

I feel that there could be a problem with the DUN file. If this is at present working via the BT dial up. When the next build comes out I have a suggestion and that is to delete the Wireplay Direct DUN file so when the new client is installed it creates a new dial up connection.
Sorry thawe have not been able to fix this now.
Regards,
Thanks for the reply,
I think I may have spoken to soon as it didn't work the second time I tried it anyway.
No worries I'll wait till the next build and do as you say......

I have the same problem an some other log on problems.
But i have a solution !!
This solution only proves that the client is not yet right in its innards.
Basically, i keep clicking on the connect button and by the 4th or 5th attempt, it always goes thru.
Why does this work ?, well i don't have a clue
