Anyone got a Zoom 56K Dualmode Modem??

Lo everyone.

I have a Zoom 56K Dualmode Modem (model 2856A) and everytime I connect, it says 56K and then drops to V34. This means that the connection has slowed down a hell of a lot.

It doesn't do this with other ISP's, so why with Wireplay Direct?? Please help.

Bit confused when you say it says 56k but drops to V34 (does the modem retrain ??) What connection speed do you get when you first connect ?

If the modem is retraining (i.e. renegotiating the speed to suit the line condition) then you might be able to tell it not to with an init string.

P.S I know it's boring but have you confirmed with the makers web site that you have the VERY latest drivers and firmware ?
