I'm just learning so I sit here with my HTML for Cretins in 24 hours and 10 Easy steps book in my hand and I still can't find it. How do I lose the lines beneath my hyperlinks. I know its probably easy but short of trawling loads of different websites and learning things that are beyond me as of yet, you are my best hope. It is possible isn't it?
Words of less than 2 syllables would be appreciated

Can you put up the HTML code that you are using... only tend to use web packages, the old type it in yourself is a little lost, although I should be able to find it if I create a hyperlink in a package, then view the HTML in that and compare it with what you have...

(start from <A HREF, plz [I thinks thats where it starts)

Not quite sure why you'd want to (after all, the whole world is used to links being underlined http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif), but this worked for me:

<A HREF="http://www.mylink.co.uk" STYLE='TEXT-DECORATION=NONE;TEXT-UNDERLINE=NONE'>Link Here</A>

As ele said.. Yeah.. so your page may look prettyer with no underlined links.. but unless you make it really obvious where the links are, visitors are just going to miss them.

Internet Explorer also has the option in preferences to not underline links by default.. so you can surf and no links are underlined. Since absolutly no-body uses this feature, I think it's pretty safe to assume that most people prefer underlined links. So keep em! http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

The only reason I could see for putting un-underlined links in your page would be for a hidden links. If this is what you want, then Ele's code should work http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Of course to shorten and simplify that you should use a style sheet (external), but not all browsers show those right.

Ta everybody for your help. For your interest I wanted to lose the lines under the links on my menu down the edge of the page. The currently selected link was a different colour and the rest were obviously links anyway. As it stands I probably won't bother, I'll just keep the lines.

Obviously I'm in a minority here Taulath. I hate those lines under hyperlinks so I have em turned off using said option in IE5.
