Hayes Accura 56K External Speakerphone 5670

I use a Hayes Accura 5670 modem which I have flash upgraded to V90 standard.

When connecting to Freeserve I generally get a speed of 49K or higher, but with Wireplay Direct it tends to be 31,200 or thereabouts. Any ideas anyone?

Does it ever get above 33600 when connecting direct to WP ? If not (sorry if this is obvious) then it don't sound like your V.90 and WP's V.90 code are very well matched.

Have you double checked you have the latest firmware AND drivers for your modem.

Sorry if none of this is very specific, but a few other guys have seen problems after flash upgrading K56flex http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif

Hayes version of V.90 seems a bit unhappy with the 3Com equipment you folks are dialling into. Not much we can do until either side releases a code update...

Odd that, I use the same modem to connect to BT Internet and get a 49K --> 52K connection every time.

Perhaps the guys and WP can ask BTi for some their Ascends!

Until today, I'd never managed to connect to WP Internet but now realise that was because my CLI is withheld by default. I have now connected to WP Internet, Line One and BT ClickFree using 1470 before dialling and get a 50k+ connection with each of these. WP Direct remains at 33600 max, however.
