ive been having problems with high pings in online games suchas unreal.
i was told by outher players it could be my modem, which i did a test of and found it very slow about a 5th its possible speed.
i have got data off the chip as i cannot find the docs supplied.
the data is-on the lable was
barcode- t2rgn821
internal 56k data/fax/modem
90056
fcc-id koc-st561 41dna
fcc-id registration-2d7usa-24574-m5-e
re 0.7b ln4.5
smt model no-st56141dnamsr
lucent
also on the main chip was
lucent
1643
9.8025 254140
coppyright 95 lucent
i found drivers for lucent via www.drivershl.com but does 56k flex stand for 56k data fax phone (flex meaning flexible)?
i would appreciate your help on this as i am new to all this lingo and high tec stuff.
oh my setup is p200mmx 64meg v2 3dfx win 95.
thanks plople.

plople,

Sorry, but some questions first :-

1. What sort of pings/latency have you been getting when playing ?
2. What games are you playing ?
3. How do you access Wireplay (via Wireplay direct or another ISP).
4. What connection speed do you get when you connect (to Wireplay or your ISP).

That'll give us all more of an idea where to start looking.

Cheers

plople,

(i'm starting to sound like a broken record here.......) try and update your drivers if you can find some suitable ones. Obviously you should be able to connect to WP direct at higher speeds than 31200. Do you connect to your ISP at higher speeds (and who do you use, if you don't mind me asking).

Actually, for an internal non-branded modem running at 31200, your HL ping of 250-400 is'nt that bad !

You might also try checking some of your DUN settings from this page :-

http://www.funkateers.co.uk/techweb/modems/dse56epro/index.htm

Obviously we use different modems, but the port settings, compression and other stuff is suitable for you to use.
