Ok, down to business. Does anyone have any tips for reducing packet loss on a Pace V90 modem?

If any of you peeps have tried to play with the BT Free connection, you get heaps of packet loss. I need help.

Can someone give me some init strings for my modem, for which I play Quake 2, all the time.

Thanx

Templar,

Have you got error correction selected in your BTI Free connection ? If my BTI Free Weekend DUN is anything to go by, there's a few things that can be changed from the default version (if you installed it via the BTI setup icon).

Also, there is a long and detailed manual available on the Pace web site. I'm not sure any init string will help your packet loss as such, but there might be something useful there (maybe try and limit your connection speed a bit ?).

Finally, i've used BTI free last 2 weekends and it can be very dodgy in patches, and not helped by WP seeming overloaded yesterday (terrible freezes in TFC and Tribes which affected everybody on the servers).

Cheers

Everyone I know gets loads of PL while using 0800 number, my PL is around 20-30% all the time sometimes is goes a bit lower i.e. from 4am-10am when it's about 10% http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Infact using btinternet to play on wp always gives lots of PL, so they want to get it sorted.
