OK, since this is the modems topic, here are my modem troubles. Feel free to solve :)

OK, here we go. I have a Microcomputer Research Inc MR Modem, 56k, flash upgraded to V90 (ha!)
I connect to WP in various ways, explained below.
I get a connection of 115200 (I suspect this is my port speed http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif)

Ok, when I connect through WP Direct (with or without client) I get a ping of 200-300ms (Quakeworld) and plenty of U_Removes.
If I connect through Lineone I get about the same ping but no U_Removes, which is better.

However, I feel that my gaming experience could be enhanced a little by a rather lower ping... http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Any ideas?

Yep - that'll be the port speed (115200).
Try putting "W2" (without the quotes obviously) into your modems "extra settings" box.

You should now (with luck) see your real connect speed. Can you then post back with the speeds for Wp direct and Lineone.
