Jaeger sqd. sneaks into a valley and lays 'HE det packs' along its legnth - Locust sqd. Lures a Kill hungry NME into the valley right into my trap - Click BOOOM - Click BOOOM - Click BOOOM. Niiiiiiiiiiiice :doom:

WOW - Just had my best game of GC to date!!
Popped into the main chat lobby and looked at the game props - CDC vs 2 I saw 'hmmmmmmm clan dudes - let me at em!' I thought.
Ok so I choose to play as OND - one more thing aerodynes were switched off in this game.
my line up:-
Crusaders 1 sqd. - equiped with FSP's and deployable radar
Templars 1 sqd. - equiped with micro-nukes and Personal cloaks.
Apus 1 sqd. - electro dagger - mines
Sculptor 1 sqd. - dagger - electro field??
Lynx 1 sqd. - Plasma sunburst - protector sheild.
Volans 1 sqd. - Plasma sunburst - protector sheild.
Sagitta 2 sqds. - tankbuster - repair module.
OK thats my line up - now to the game.
Me and this other fella started near the south of the map - we immediately began to move upwards through the middle. After a while and no sign of the NME a few artillery rounds came crashing down on my Sagitta and Apus units my Apus (Only being scout hoverdynes were oblitereted.) - 'We're being flanked' I cried, at which point my ally left the game!!
'oh joy' i said as it was me Vs two hardened clan dudes. Needless to say i thought i was gonna get wh00ped, so as i visioned the NME now Behind me I rushed up the map to a hill, on the way i dropped off my infantry near a clump of bushes and rocks - they immediately dived for cover and my Crusaders set up their deployable radar as the rest of my force floated off into the horizon.
As soon as the radar was deployed i was greeted with a huge patch of purple and red dots (the NME.) 'OOOoooh Maaaan' I said to myself. OK time to think fast i thought as the huge blob of purple and red slowly began to move in my direction, ok now or never. I Ordered my two precious Saggita (artillery hoverdynes.) forward and commanded them to fire their 'tankbuster' charges at a point in the NME's path, screeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FZZZZTTTTT BOOOM - screeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FZZZZTTTTT BOOOM - Direct hit - near enough half this massive force was now smoking with heavy damage - but this only seemed to enrage them further and they rushed towards my artillery, as they approached i cloaked my Templars and as they passed their hidden position i sent them into the side of 4 Heavy Terradynes - their powerfull micro nukes rained down on the already damaged behemoths and two of them exploded instantly - showering debris over their comrades - the whole force turned to meet this stealthy threat. at that point i sent in my sqd of Volans (heavy hoverdynes.) they crashed into the exposed right flank of the NME crushing a sqd of light terradynes. Alas their valiant attack was late and the brave Templars were lost, now my Volans were faced with wall of metal/tracks and guns. One exploded nearly instantly, i hurredly sent in my other infantry in the vain attempt to rescue these expensive units - They approached from the left the NME cant have known they were there as they had their backs to my infantry 'YES' i thought as my Crusaders opened up with their 'focused storm pulses' in the rear of the remaining heavy terras - Then the NMES artillery began to rain down the crusaders were blown to bits and my single Volan began to limp back to the command APC for vital repairs - just then a report came in that a fresh squad of Apus scouts were ready to be dropped - which i did immediately - they rushed as the rear of the force, only to find the artillery still launching their deadly packages towards my force, the scouts made short work of dispatching these terror instiling machines.
Now all was left of the NME was a few light terradynes and a whole heap of infantry - I sent in my Sculptors and sent my Lynx's far out to the right ready to crash into the nmes battered sides once again - it worked - the remaining NME infantry and light tanks were obliterated.
When I realised what I had just achieved with still more than half my force intact - I just new i had to write this report.
GC is such a class game - when tactics like this pay off with clever thought out strikes - its soo satisfying. This is the BEST multiplayer RTS game ever!!!
Thank you for reading :doom:

Nice tactics :sailor:
I have a nice tactic for when some git is camping on your DZ
If your opponent has his forces reasonably tightly together go straight for the micro-nuke and lob it into the middle. There's two ways this can go, either he sees the launch and should start to move his forces, or doesn't see it and is going to get a nice surprise. If he starts to move, you should have taken the initiative and be in a position to dictate the play.
As soon as you launch the nuke I recommend doing some, all or more than the following:
set any infantry to enter the command APC.
drop any sentry guns at your DZ.
Select your team in 2 halves (leave the artillery where it is) and set one half moving towards each flank (but keeping a good distance out). Don't worry too much about what's going where, just get things moving and push forward.
With me so far? If your enemy is on the move away from you he's exposing his rear, and you can also start an artillery bombardment of his likely path of retreat. If he moves in towards your artillery he'll be badly flanked. If he stays put he's dead.
I've used this very successfully once, but it does depend on timing to a large extent. If your drop-ships are seen on the way in, there may already be a nuke on its way to you, so you have to hussle it and get moving.
Oh yeah, and you'll probably sacrifice your artillery too.

I hadn't playied for a while..until friday night when i got trounced :)
i definatly need to find a more affective way of countering artillery in very hilly maps. I did noticed that one guy was using deployable radar and artillery very well. If you consistanly get hit, check out for those small little radar things.
I wish some maps would randomly create DZ..once they camp in its a real pain in the arse.
oyst.
I've not used deployable radar yet. Do they have any kind of effective range, or does it just let you see the whole map at once?

I think they have a range. I don't think it makes units visable in the game, only on the map....can any1 confirm this?
