High latency

Hi, I play TFC Half-life.

I have an Internal Supraexpress 56i V Pro.
I have a P2MMX, 64mb ram. Why do I always get latensy of arond 400-500?

Can anyone help?

Everybody else playing seams to have latensy of around 200-300, is it just me?

Thanx, it's sorted it out, It's now 170-185.

I connect at 52000bsp now as well.

Thanx, now all I ogt to sort out now is how to keep my modem from logging me off.

Do you know any cures for lag?

Try loading the latest firmware, which you can get from here :-

I know a couple of guys at least that have found this has done the trick.

If yuo're not sure which current firmware version you have then select "my computer", then "control panel", then "modems", select your modem then click the "diagnostics" tab, then "more info".

The result of the ATI3 command should tell you the version of firmware you currently have.

If you have the latest version already, you might wanna try reinstalling it, as this sometimes works as well.

P.S You don't say what speed you connect at, or how (via WP direct or another ISP) ?

It say I connect at 33'600bps, but i never believe it. I use Wireplay Direct

Why does your modem log you off ?

Dunno, at bout 2 am every morning it goes mental and I can only stay on-line for 15 min intervals

Hopefully it won't go mental anymore.

However, do i understand you right that it goes mental every morning at 2AM and then you can't stay connected for more than 15 mins. Or does it disconnect you every 15 mins all the time. Sorry....bit confusing this.

I can't stay connected for more than 15 mins, nah, I only go on-line hwne my girlfriend is at home, she'd have my guts for garteers.


It's all kinda pear-shaped.

Might be a server fault, I wouldn' worry yourself over it.
