high pings!

High pings!, is it my Drivers in the Modem?
My spec is p2400mhz 128mb 10gh voodoo3 with Supraexpress 56e/i PRO modem. Im getting pings of 450-500 on Half-Life. Getting terrible lag. Im ****ed off, what can i do, can anyone help me? Would be most grateful.

Is it an external or internal modem ?
I ask because you said the model was Supraexpress 56e/i PRO. An "e" is an external and an "i" is an internal.

Regardless, but the following URL is my complete setup for a SupraExpress 56e PRO, including where to get the latest drivers from Diamond (recommended !). Most of the page is also relevant for an internal modem setup.

its so good even Halflife.net has it in there download section, albeit an
older version but the strange thing is its the only one of its kind?, and
lots of people are using it. If you like it and it helps please email and
