Lo there everyone. Okay, so I have a silly question here. I thought that I would ask you guys, as most of you seem to know what you are talking about.

I am thinking of getting ISDN. I won't be going for any of this silly HomeHighway stuff, as I find it too expensive, and BT is not my telephone service provider. I am with NTL. I was just wondering whether I would be able to buy just a card (£49.99) and that would be all I needed, since most lines are now digital. Would this work, or would I still have to buy a terminal adaptor??

Thanks for you help.

You need to buy an ISDN TA card or External box model, the TA stands for terminal adapter. These are about £30.00 for an Asuscom one. (see http://www.insight.com/cgi-bin/bp/843158556/uk/result.html?a=s&f=p&t=a&d=asus+isdn you will need a card with an anologue port if you want to connect a phone to it as well). You will then need your Telephone/Cable company to install an ISDN box in your house to access the digital network. This is done by either converting an existing anologue line or installing a brand new connection, either way you will have to pay a higher quarterly rental than your standard phone line.

hope this helps
