View Full Version : Rockwell
I've tried everything I know to get my rockwell 56k modem to work. I've got all sorts of drivers including the original and updated and I've installed it correctly using the virtual com port on the modem which it sees but when installing the driver soon after (not letting it shut down or sometimes letting it shut down) it just refuses to see the modem itself and wont talk with it. Please help me.

Vixk99,
Do you know what make it is and/or wether it is a PCI modem ?
I had an internal PCI as part of an OEM package (E-Tech PCI56RVP). It was useless so i passed it to my dad and it took us about 2 weeks to get the damn thing working (similair probs to yours).
Cheers
Slime
It's ISA not PCI

Like a fool I bought a Modular 56k/V90
modem from a well known high street chain
who mainly sell tellies, after my excellent
pace 56k int/isa card was struck by lightning.
Little did I know it was a Winmodem with a Rockwell chip!
It was only a stop-gap as I now have ISDN2E
but suffice to say it was a complete waste of money and I've taken it back! They are not too happy about refunding me though. More on this follows.....
I wan assistance please, not stories.

The point of the "story" was a polite way of suggesting you give up with that modem and get a decent one!
There must be some way, I don't have enough money to buy another one. You may as well have said it unpolitely, I would've got the point anyway.
ive posted this on another topic but...go to www.56k.com (http://www.56k.com) for loads of info on modems including how to find out exactly who made your modem and where to get the drivers from....
