I have up to the date drivers and use settings that Slime advises on his website but my pings in tfc are very average and shoot up when there is lots of activity to about 300-400. Anyone else got any advice?

Have you checked the web site recently ?
I've changed a few thinsg, which might help (and there's some quite new drivers for your modem - 19th July).

And - are you dialling into WP Direct ?

Thanks for replying. In fact I downloaded the current drivers I have from your website
(They definetly are the correct ones). Also I dial up using WP Direct (Trying to connect through BT Lineone is even worse). I checked your website about 2 days ago as well so use pretty much identical settings.

Hmmmm, it should work better than that, especially via WP Direct. What connection speed do you get ?

And do you use any in-game tweaks (i.e. autoexec's).

Yeah, I knew I missed something out. I connect normally at around 45k-48k (It fluctuates from time to time but not that often). I use an autoexec called Lowping Autoexec.cfg Version 1.0.6 which I downloaded from a website made by Sabathius.I also use a fairly short extension but you have said yourself that it doesn't matter in another post (I think).
Besides that I don't use any tweaks.

Sorry for all the questions mate, but i'm looking for clues.

So you have software compression on (under server types), error control off (under advanced connection settings) and compress data off (same place) ? And your COM port is set to 115200 and you haven't recently introduced any new hardware and are not running anything in the background (virus checkers, instant message clients, ftp tools, blah, blah blah).

I think that covers it.......

It's still a problem, my tfc ping ranged from 180 when standing still to 370 when in the thick of the action
