Thanks v. much for your answer to my earlier posting - however, the problems we encounter happen when we play AoE through Wireplay, not modem-to-modem (although we've tried that and we get exactly the same problem!) Any more thoughts? Cheers again.

Does your friend get a stable modem connection when he plays on the net ?

Sound slike he might be dropping out in the middle of the game.

Unfortunately i've never played AOE on the net. Have you check the AOE message board in case someone else has seen this problem ?
And - have you checked for AOE upgrades on the net ? Maybe it was a bug within the first retail version.

Sorry....but i don't think it's due to your DUN settings, although it might be your friends modem.
