I have recently been getting frozen in the middle of a game for a while, this is packet loss isn't it? How do I prevent this from happening anyone? if u can shed some light on it or fix the problem I'd be very grateful, cheers, ned
OK, well I have a 3COM v90 and get great pings of 100-140. However, I do also get the occasional bout of bad lag/packet loss. For example, in a 10 min Duel I usually get 2-3 little freezes, and every so often (maybe once a week) I get a massive one. To be honest it doesn't bother me that much. You could try knocking the receive FIFO Buffer down a notch - that helps me a little bit. Obviously make sure you have the latest drivers for your modem too.
If you're getting loads of them I would ring BT on 151 and ask them to check the line - I had problems last year and they sent an engineer out who fixed it.

in a ten min duel I usually only get one or none, so given the number u get, I'm happy, I assumed it didn't happen to others http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
I had a strange occurence just now though, earlier today I had a freeze which I thought was a disconnection, but it stayed connected, but without any information being sent or received, it was weird, anyway thanks for your help, cheers, ned
Check out Slime's website and/or the TFA website it may help http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif
