Well i'm in need of a new one sooo some suggestions would b nice :)
Diamond Supra Express 56Ki.
Since I got it, my download rates have doubled (As high as 7.0k/s on one download, and it lasted!) and my pings have halfed. Costs about £35 from most decent suppliers ( www.watford.co.uk (http://www.watford.co.uk) , www.dabs.com (http://www.dabs.com) , www.smcdirect.co.uk (http://www.smcdirect.co.uk) , www.insight.com (http://www.insight.com) , www.software-warehouse.co.uk (http://www.software-warehouse.co.uk) )
There's also my recommendations on my website.
BTW - If you do go for the Diamond Supra PRO 56i then make sure you get the hardware version - NOT the SST. Double check with the dealer if you are not sure.
Cheers

I'll vote for the 56i - even though I happen to own a 56e :)
I'm probably going to acquire a 56i as well though, just for the extra little edge :)

bloody hell 7k i must be doing something wrong then- mine are at 4-5k on agood day- shambles modem i am gonna reinstall, does it help if u arent using extension leads to the phoneline by any chance? cus i am, how much differnece does it make? What does ure supra i pro say in the control panel i north?
Mine sez suprai V CC micro tihnking he was duped into the software one after specifically asking fior the hardware one.
SHAMBLES I tell u.
It was about three o'clock in the morning and I was using the softnet gold ISP which is VERY fast. I'm pretty sure I've got the same modem as you Microboft. Uses the same drivers and everything anyway.
I have it plugged straight into the phone line. I don't have any special tweaks or anything. My average download speed is 4.8k-5.2k/s.

I took Slimes advice and bought a Supra Express 56e PRO
Vast improvement so far. Take Slimes advice and you can't go far wrong

PS: is that ISP free? ie no monthly rates?

I live in Dunstable which is about 30 miles north of London. Its right next to Luton if thats any help.
What about you Microboft? If u do live nearby I'd be happy to organise a party. I'd just have to find somewhere to host it I guess...
PS Softnet isn't free but its dead cheap, about a fiver a month. You get twenty quids worth of software free each month though which is nice :)
