ok this is bugging my tiny brain now :)
ok IF 33.6k is the FASTEST a phone line can send at how can u receive 56k over a phone line?
and how does hh work? i mean u get a box that converts ya phone line into a digital line? er.. how coz its still the same phone line so therefore couldnt ya just get faster modems?
weird questios and im sure sum1 will make an ass outta me :)
p.s i have cable so im not interested in either :)
Hi,
I'd suggest here (http://www.3com.com/technology/tech_net/white_papers/500659.html) for an explanation of how V90 works.

HH works by using clever compression methods, (presumably this is part of the box of tricks that BT have to install in your house) squeezing out every ounce of bandwidth available over an analogue POTS line. It does'nt convert your line into a digital line as that would probably mean extra cabling between you and the exchange.

Why you asking then ;)
