I have the diamond supra express pro ext as recommended by yourself. I am generally happy with the modem apart from one fault.
Whenever my familly pick up one of the many phones in our house connected to the same line my modem cuts out. This is very annoying especially when online gaming. It also seems to cut out frequantly for no reason. It has become a regular thing now the game freezes i look at the modem the lights all go out and i have a shouting fit.
My sister thinks it is hilarious and picks up the phone every couple of minutes.
There must be an extra string or something that can stop the modem giving priority to outgoing calls.
If there isnt my only hope is kill my familly, oh but then who would pay for my online habit.
SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!

Hi,

I'll start with the silly answer which is obviously to stop them from picking up the phone ;) Glue all the other receivers down or try some laser trip mines as a deterent. I did and it stopped my girlfriend (although strangely i haven't seen her for a while......)

Yes and no. There is no string to stop the modem giving priority to outgoing calls.
What you need is a string to increase the time which the modem can lose carrier (which is what happens when someone else picks up another phone). Luckily...this can be done using the S10 register. By default the value set is about 1.4 seconds (after someone else picks another phone up) before your modem will drop the connection. Therefore if you increase this then you have longer for them to replace the handset. Try this in your extra settings box, under advanced connection settings of the relevant DUN:-

S10=140
or
ATS10=140

The value can be incr5eased more if you need, but any more might make disconnecting a very long process (NB - you may notice that the modem takes a while to disconnect anyway when using this string).

You'll still probably see freezes in your game if someone picks the phone up, but hopefully you'll be able to recover from it without having to reconnect.

Can you let me know how well it works (or if it doesn't) ?

Cheers

im guessing that aint gonna work cos i already had the string ATS10=225 in my extra settings i got it off the diamond site and it doesnt seem to have helped so it looks like i may have to resort to the laser trip mines unless you have any other ideas.

Cheers
