ARrrrgghhh - Please Help me some1 this is driving me crazy - Diamond SupraExpress 56e

I have a Diamond 56e PRO modem and find that my pings are excellent - even comparable to some ISDN. I have no problems with download or surfing, but when I play Half - Life over WPDirect ONLY (It does not happen on BTi or BTFree) My modem sometimes/occasionally goes psychopathic and starts downloading and receiveing copious amounts or data that is not due to the game. The game lags and i must restart my modem and log on again.
I have tried removing init strings under peoples' guidance but it still happens :(
Any Idea on what is happening?

I recently got the same modem and had problems installing. So I called Diamond help line and they advised me it was a problem with modem and to return it. Very helpful and no problem when I swapped it - I get to the point...There seemed to be little surprise that I had a duff modem from the helpline guy??
Perhaps their level of returns is higher than you probably expect?
Anyway, call Diamond the seemed very switched on.

This won't help you fix the problem - but it happens to me sometimes. Unfortunately it's completely random and i have no idea what causes it (although it doesn't happen very much).

Maybe there is a fault with some of them - if Diamond will swop it then it's probably worth taking up their offer and see if it's cured.
