How can I get a better ping out of a:

U.S.Robotics x2 Winmodem Voice

?

I can only get a 200-250 ping outta of it!

Any help appreicated!

By replacing it :)

Seriously.....try setting your DUN's as my webby shows then come back here if your ping is still unnacceptable.

BTW - I think you already know that winmodems aren't much good for gaming, although some people have reported OK results with some of the USR versions.

I did all that stuff on ya site, works like a dream! I have nearly cut my ping in half! With the MTU software (only on Win 95 :)!) and your guide to DUN etc... I have got a ping of about 150 on average instead of my 200 odd!

Very good and thanx, I still will consider a new modem, when I have the cash! :)

I am looking at CD RW's at the mo though...

Also could I ask if it would be worth putting a new modem in:

P233 MXX
64MB Ram
4GB HD
12MB Voodoo 2

and the crappy win modem is a ISA one!

If u need any more specs just post!

I'm all ready running quake 3 in the lowest settings possiable (512 res, low graphics etc!?) Very demanding game that!

I know I've said I ain't looking for a modem at the mo, but what would u recommend for a spec like this or if at all!? :)
