I have a Zoom 56k USB modem. I need to slow the connection speed to help with my TFC. I have visted your mighty fine webby but cannot get the bloody thing to slow down. :)

I have entered different AT command lines (from your web site) into Extra Settings, but whn I do this all I get is the that the computer can not communicate with the modem.

Why slow your speed tho?
when i connect at that speed on WP i get no PL and nice pings, try turning error control off.........i dont use it anyway....

Unforunately i'll need more time than i have right now to hunt down a different init string to slow the modem down. I'll see if i can dig one out this weekend. You're right in trying to slow it down - i think 52000 might be a bit too fast.

However, if the modem log was for a call to WP Direct then i would follow NIS2000's advice. Or - turn off error control and compress data and enable software compression (under server types) - as per my webby shows for a connection to WP Direct.

Finally, am i going mad or did you recently buy this modem ? If so, it has to be said that USB aren't the greatest for online gaming and the best thing would ultimately be to try and replace it for a standard serial port version. Sorry and all that :(
