hey all i have a hsp56kflex modem and i connect to wp at 31,000 and normally 33,00
i get an average ping of 350-500 and always get 'net jacks' please help!

ps. please dont give me tweak dun/ui settings cause i dont have them!

Check which port your modem is installed on. If it's on COM 4, change it to COM 3. You don't mention which game you're referring to when you get the socket-loss icon, but if it's Quake/Quake 2, Half Life, etc., try adjusting the frame rate. It might help if you post a more detailed spec. summary for your PC -- if people can see what else you have installed they'll have a better idea about what to suggest that may help you.

Have a look in your control panels, and see if there's a control panel called HSP modem. If there is, open it up and see if it gives you the option of turning off Use Error Control and Use Flow Control. Both options should be unticked. Also try adding the following string to extra settings:

AT&F&C1&D2&K3W1

Finally, set both of your FIFO buffers to maximum.
