Hi. When playing Half-Life on Wireplay I sometimes get this message at the console and my modem then drops the connection. The lag also goes through the roof at this point. To be more presise it jumps from about 200 to 2000! How can I avoid this. i have heard that typing cl_nodelta 1 at the console corrects this. Can someone please confirm this and give me some advice.

Cheers

CL_NODELTA 1 is an old Quake command (which I assume works in HL) it basically does help, not sure how, but it may get rid of the message, however it usually would appear when you've got a bad connection coming up anyway.

Sorry I can't be of help, I just look at it as those the command gets rid of the error, but not the cause.

So you will probably still suffer, and I'd suggest looking further into why the connection isnt so great.

If we're talking USR 3COM x2 V90 modems, I can help. Apart from that I'd be useless http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Heed the voice of Kremlin, for he speaketh words of wisdom. Half Life uses the same engine as Quake 2, so it's fair to assume that the cl_nodelta 1 command would get rid of the u-remove... error if you typed it at the console. Also, as Kremlin points out, the appearance of the message usually indicates a bad connection problem, which may be due to any number of reasons. It may be worth posting your PC spec. here, with particular reference to your modem's (or terminal adapter's) settings, as that would be a good place for us and other customers to start looking for a possible cause. Also, it may be worth having a word with your line provider and asking them to fix the gain on the phone line you use to connect to Wireplay.
