connection problem with hl

ok since the new service ive been having problems keeping connections to hl and tfc servers.ill be playing the game for about 5 mins then everything freezes i type r_netgraph 1 in at the console and it show the connection has been lost.it seem to be worse with tfc for some reason.ive got a pace 56 internal modem which i upgraded to v.90.any help with sorting this out would be greatly appreated.

In order to help we'll need some further feedback:

- what is you ver. of Windows (if W95, then what version of DUN)?

- you say you upgraded to v.90, when was that roughly?

- who is your web account with?

- and at what speeds do you connect to your ISP's at?
This is quite important, so that we can determine which protocol(s)
the modem uses.

- try putting +ms=11,0 (or equivalent, check modem manual [or a txt file that
might of come with it) for additional strings that disable all protocols
above v.34 ) in the advanced modem settings for the WP connectoid in the DUN.
To see if this problem is caused by the protocol at all..

- does the phone line have any features such as `call-waiting' enabled?

Tical,

Their a few things you might want to try.

(1) Go to the Wireplay Direct connection in dial up networking (DUN). When you find it delete it.

(2) Go to make new connection and create a new connection called Wireplay Direct.

(3) Go to the properties on this new DUN connection. First thing you should do is to go into sever types and remove all the ticks. Just leave TCP/IP ticked. Then go to configure on you modem make sure that the FIFO buffers in port settings are set to maximum. Go to advanced settings and make sure that error control and flow control is turned off.
