Can you dou something about this authing nonsense?

Either remove it or sort out the net connection!

I can't get on the TFC server and it's happening all the time!!

unfortunately they cant remove is (as far as im aware)

this is a big problem. valve were so concerned with people stealing their work that they completely inconvenienced their proper customers.

needless to say many companies werent quick to follow their example......

there has been several other problems with the won authentification deal, like pirates using your cd key and if you disconnect improperly you couldnt get back in for a while (now fixed i think)

but there have been problems because of this outside of wireplay......

Yes we are aware of the problem, and it has been worked on (I'm not sure if it fixed yet, I'll let you know).

From the horses mouth: Most of the problems with Half-life WON authentication are caused by the fact that WONs authentication server is simply over-loaded and unable to process all applications.

It could possibly be the customer's DNS settings that are wrong, too. They *MUST* use server assigned DNS.
